Description:
On offer from our personal collection is this handsome bronze/brass anklet from the Senufo peoples of Ivory Coast. Skilled metal workers, this piece is a fine representation of Senufo artistry in the realm of lost wax casting. An older piece, the anklet features fine detailing including the head of a horse mounted on one end & knob at the other, both adorned with semicircular concentric designs. Similar to raised scarifications, striated patterns are found midway on either side of the anklet.
Despite the separation in the band (viewable in the photos), this well-used ankle bracelet is in otherwsie good overall condition. Wonderful old patina & a lovely display.
