Description:
On offer from our personal collection is this stunning art glass piece in the exciting medium of fused glass. When 2 or more pieces of glass are kiln-fired at extreme temperatures (1500 degrees Fahrenheit), the glass will fuse together. Upon cooling, the glass becomes solid. The visible surface "pitting" (or bubbles) is a result of the firing process, & adds to the uniqueness of each creation.
A heavy piece weighing ca. 4-lbs., this food-safe platter features a 1.5" black border that harbors an intense, luminous inner core pattern of copper/orange-&-black abstract swirls. In as new condition, this piece has been used for decorative display only. Measuring 12" in diameter, & ca. 1.5" in depth, this vibrant glass work is also translucent & can be illuminated from behind, making a most eye-catching display.
